Have you ever wondered what is the meaning of life?
Why are we here?
When you wake up in the morning, what’s the first thing that you hear or see outside of your room?
Do you take time to go outside and listen to the birds? To watch them maybe at a feeder?
Do you wake up in time to watch the sunrise? Or step outside to look at the sunset?
I’ve heard it said that being in nature calms the spirit. That’s why so many people hike and go off on camping excursions in the wilderness. That’s why people are avid campers, mountain climbers, hikers, kayakers… you name it. But do you wonder why that is?
Yahweh, Lord God, Emmanuel, El Shaddai; whatever name you use for God, the Great I Am, created heaven and earth. And He is a God of peace and love. That’s why when you go sit in nature, you can can feel His presence.
If you’re not a believer, I challenge you to go outside this week, today even. Go sit in nature and boldly, as you’re wiling, sit with your eyes closed and feel God’s presence. And if you’re bold enough, speak to Him. Ask Him to show Himself to you. If you are earnest in your request, He will because his Word says, seek and you will find (Matt 7:7).
